Gorgeous Wedding at the Blackstone Hotel in Chicago

Even though this wedding took place in Chicago, the gorgeously lush trees in the outdoor shots of Beth and Eric totally tricked me into thinking it was somewhere Southern {I was thinking Savannah} which immediately made me fall in love with the wedding. ;) I'm also ridiculously smitten with the ceremony setting {oh em gee!} and the awesomely modern centerpieces. Take a look:

Says the bride, "We stayed at the Blackstone by chance a couple of years before the wedding. When it came time to pick a venue in downtown Chicago, we remembered the hotel and its unique combination of funk and elegance. When we visited and saw the two-story ballroom complete with amazing views of Chicago and a gorgeous chandelier, we were sold. We tried to match the style of the wedding to the setting -- traditional luxury with modern touches.

Eric's favorite memory was watching Beth walk down the aisle and realizing that he would get to spend the rest of his life with her. Beth's favorite memory were the short ribs (also walking up the aisle and realizing she would get to spend the rest of her life with Eric, but those short ribs were really tasty).

We met at Michigan Law School and so had the band play Hail to the Victors as we made our entrance into the reception. Beth also surprised Eric with a University of Michigan groom's cake. But our favorite touch was the 1,000 cookies Eric's mom made for our hospitality suite.

We didn't really have a vision for the day itself, but we had a vision for the day after. We imagined waking up on Sunday, May 27 to a beautiful, sunny morning in Chicago. We imagined looking at each other and recounting the most amazing day of our lives. And then we imagined our guests rolling out of bed -- bellies full, slightly hungover, and feet sore from too much dancing.

Beth's advice: "Take a longer honeymoon. And don't give your boss your contact information."
